Scania Irizar i4 is just the ticket for Woodstones Coaches
13 Jul 2022 Kidderminster-based Woodstones Coaches has taken delivery of an Irizar i4 built on Scania’s latest KNI360 generation chassis. The new vehicle comes with 57 reclining seats, climate control air conditioning and Alcoa Dura-Bright alloy wheels. It is also built to full PSVAR specification which includes a wheelchair lift and destination signs. -

Not so in the case of Stuart Black, who joined Scania's Newbridge branch near Edinburgh as an apprentice technician more than 20 years ago. 17 Dec 2021 Scania is introducing Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) trucks that can be fitted with different powertrain and charging options, thus offering solutions that can fulfil various demands for applications. A new electric machine, GE281, works in tandem with a Scania seven or nine-litre combustion engine, providing unique opportunities for creating fossil-free transport solutions for heavy trucks with demanding bodywork. -

Lloyds Coaches takes its first three Scania Irizar i6 coaches
24 Nov 2021 Lloyds Coaches has taken delivery of three used Scania coaches, the first to enter service with the Machynlleth, mid-Wales based company. Equipped with Irizar i6 bodies, the purchase follows on from the successful trial of Scania's demonstration vehicle by Lloyds Coaches at the end of 2019 which generated a great deal of positive feedback from the company's customers. -

Scania launches three-axle LNG tractor unit
14 Oct 2021 Scania has further extended its portfolio of dedicated gas-fuelled trucks with the introduction of a 6x2/2 LNG (liquified natural gas) tractor unit. Equipped with a lightweight Hendrickson centre lift-axle, the vehicle is available to order immediately. -

Scania participates in pioneering UK HGV electrification feasibility study
27 Jul 2021 Scania is to participate in a major feasibility study into the operation of long haul electrified trucks utilising dynamic charging provided by overhead wires on electric roads. This will be the first study of its type to take place in the UK, the aim being to demonstrate to readiness of the technology for a national roll-out. -

11 Jun 2021 Leading civil engineering and specialist plant hire business, Waitings Limited has added a 150-tonnes gross train weight, double-drive STGO Category 3 Scania 650 S heavy haulage prime mover to its Cliburn, near Penrith, Cumbria-based fleet. Waitings operate a large fleet of earthmoving equipment including excavators up to 70-tonnes in weight. -

Scania launches Scania Fencer f1
17 May 2021 The UK has been chosen for the global launch of Scania's new Fencer bus range, the first model of which is the Fencer f1, a single deck, fully built-up bus. The vehicle, which is the first complete Scania single deck bus to be released in the UK for ten years, will subsequently be introduced to many other markets worldwide and will form the basis of a new platform of sustainable Scania buses going forward. -
Father and Daughter invest in Scania
23 Apr 2021 Shepton Mallet, Somerset-based Father & Daughter Transport Limited has invested in a new Scania R 540 8x4 tipper for use on its roadstone and tarmacadam delivery contract with construction materials supplier John Wainwright & Co. Limited. The vehicle joins the Scania G 450 8x4 tipper which Father & Daughter has operated since it was purchased new in 2018. -
James Armstrong is appointed as Managing Director of Scania (Great Britain) Ltd
12 Apr 2021 Scania Great Britain Ltd is delighted to announce the appointment of James Armstrong as its new Managing Director. James will succeed Martin Hay who leaves the business at the end of June. James will officially take up this post on 1st July 2021.
