James Armstrong takes up the reins at Scania (Great Britain) Limited

01 July 2021

With effect from 1 July 2021, James Armstrong will succeed Martin Hay as Managing Director of Scania (Great Britain) Limited.

"In taking up my new role I would firstly like to pay tribute to Martin Hay, from who I inherit a strong and robust organisation in excellent health, and wish him a long, happy and healthy retirement," says James.  "Going forward, my priorities will be to build on the solid foundation Scania has in the UK by further developing the range and scope of services we provide, and continuing to enhance the skills and working lives of our team members.

"From a personal perspective it is great to be returning to the UK, where my career with the Scania organisation started, and reconnecting with many customers and colleagues.  Having worked in a number of overseas territories for Scania in recent years, I am very much looking forward to the challenges and opportunities which lie ahead as we continue to drive the shift towards more sustainable transport solutions."

Prior to rejoining Scania (Great Britain) Limited, James Armstrong was Managing Director of Scania CER (Central Europe Region).  Based in Prague, he oversaw operations in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.  Before this he was Managing Director for Scania in South East Asia, where he was based in Kuala Lumpar.  Prior to this role, James was Services Director for Scania (Great Britain) Limited.
