Scania puts a solar powered truck to the test on public roads
Scania is trialling solar power technology on public roads as part of a two-year research collaboration with Uppsala University, Eksjö Maskin & Truck, Midsummer, Ernsts Express and Dalakraft. The unique 560hp plug-in hybrid truck has been paired with an 18m trailer covered in new lightweight tandem solar panels, with the truck set to be tested on public roads by haulage company Ernsts Express AB. -
Scania Assistance: 25 Years of delivering silver service
Scania Assistance is celebrating 25 years of delivering a silver service to our valued customers. The in-house assistance service started in August 1998 with one support centre based in Södertälje, Sweden, dealing with 5,000 cases per year. Now the operations have expanded to 15 locations globally, supporting all Scania customers in 52 countries, with the team handling more than 250,000 cases per year. -
Record Breakers: Scania UK secures large truck deal with Culina Group, WS Group and A.W. Jenkinson Group
Consortium Purchasing group has agreed a 2,500 truck order to be delivered over 12 months with Scania UK. The order will be split across the Culina Group, WS Group, A.W. Jenkinson Group and its subsidiaries. The deal includes 2,250 internal combustion engine trucks with a majority powered by the latest generation 13-litre SUPER drivetrain, while 150 trucks will be destined for Consortium’s German and Dutch operations.
