Based in southern Germany, HAWA is moving full speed on its journey towards sustainable transport. The company, which operates road transport services across Europe, has embraced electrification with the aim to increase their electric fleet.
“Reducing our carbon footprint is the main reason we’re investing in electric trucks,” says Michael Clemens, Project Manager at HAWA Freight. “But it’s also about believing in the technology and wanting to push it forward.”

A growing electric fleet
HAWA Freight currently operates a fleet of 50 trucks, of which 13 are electric vehicles, serving routes across Germany and neighbouring countries. The company plans to increase that number to 20 electric trucks by the end of 2025.
Charging made easy
To support its growing electric operations, HAWA combines depot and public charging solutions, making their operations flexible. Through Scania Charging Access, the company’s drivers can easily find and use charging stations from multiple providers.
“The Scania Charging Access card is a big help for us,” says Clemens. “We don’t need several cards or apps – everything is in one place. It’s user-friendly, transparent and makes our daily operations more flexible. Our drivers appreciate how easy it is to use.”
The system also provides clear invoicing and visibility for each charging session, helping HAWA monitor costs and energy use across the fleet. “For us, Scania is a good, reliable partner.”
