This process has now brought us to the point where we no longer need to differentiate between urban or regional operations on a platform level – and moving forward we can offer one consolidated battery electric truck platform which can then be specified to whichever needs you have. This means we now offer more chassis variations and wheel configurations, more cab options, as well as multiple e-machine choices – optimised for weight and energy efficiency or for torque and power. As well as battery configuration options that allow you to optimise the capacity and range for you needs, without compromising on payload or paying more up front for unneeded maximum capacity.

A new driving experience
With an electric machine, the driving experience will be different in all the right ways. A more nuanced drive with faster and more direct response, better acceleration and at the same time a smoother feel. And with one-pedal driving the vehicle operation is not only more comfortable, but makes the most out of energy regeneration to maximise your overall energy efficiency and range. All with zero emissions and lower sound levels, and with the choice of fully electrical, electromechanical or mechanical PTO.

Battery, charging and chassis
Our in-house assembled battery packs offer both multiple choices for capacity and support fast charging, with updated management systems and software for both the e-machine and batteries. The strengthened chassis allows optimisation for many use-cases, battery configurations and auxiliary equipment as well as a convenient placement of the charging interface – on the left-hand side behind the driver door.

Scania Smart Dash
Our in-cab ecosystem works together with My Scania and Scania Driver app to provide a seamless flow of smart insights - but also enhances vehicle safety using Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. With Over the Air software updates, your vehicle's software stays up to date and allows you to activate new services without visiting a workshop - and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth servicing capabilities allows for easier and faster diagnostics at our workshops.
Electric truck range – optimised or maximised?
Realistically, even for a long-haulage operation in Europe, the speed and driver rest regulations mean you’ll never drive more than 360 km in a single stint (4.5 hours of driving, at 80 km/h maximum speed). And the driver rest period is of course always the most optimal time to charge your truck away from the depot no matter your maximum range. Thanks to the GTW allowance increase for electric vehicles, with the addition of our upcoming MP12 under-cab battery we will be able to deliver a 400 kWh usable capacity option for 350 km of typical range without affecting your legally allowed payload maximum – letting you electrify without compromised transport capacity.
The new under-the-cab battery module, allowing for the 400 and 560 kWh battery capacities will be available for order in the beginning of 2026. However, the concept of optimising battery capacity vs. payload instead of maximising battery capacity, might be new to many customers. It might take some consideration to decide the optimum relation between range and payload. So rather than waiting with our MP12 launch until it is available for order, announcing your future options already today buys you time for the conversations and calculations that lead to the right choices for your operation – supported by the constant help and guidance of your Scania representative.
