Watch a Scania electric tipper truck in action at a Swedish mine
Scania vehicle is an industry first for mining, and is being tested in daily operations at LKAB’s Malmberget iron ore seam.
Since late 2022, Scania has been testing an electric heavy tipper truck at Swedish mining giant’s LKAB’s Malmberget iron ore mine in northern Sweden.
The Scania 25P XT all-electric tipper is being used to carry residual products from the Malmberget mine and has a weight when fully loaded of 49 tonnes.
The tests see the electric truck being used in all the tough underground operating conditions that are a daily fact of life at the mine.
