Scania Group China sets sail: deepening local roots, driving the future

Scania and Shell announced on Feb.4th 2026 a strategic deepening of their collaboration, building on the substantive cooperation established between Scania China and Shell China since 2022. Both parties are committed to further strengthening the partnership with a focus on projects aimed at accelerating emission reductions and supporting the sustainable transformation in the commercial transport sector.

With one integrated organisation—spanning R&D, procurement, production and commercial operations, Scania is accelerating its localisation strategy in China. By combining Scania's leadership in sustainable transport solutions with Shell's expertise in low-carbon energy and mobility services, the partnership aims to deliver tangible progress through joint initiatives such as a low-carbon freight ecosystem, collaborative R&D projects, and the integration of road transport solutions and high-efficiency internal combustion engine (ICE) trucks, all designed to reduce the carbon footprint of heavy-duty transport.
