With the establishment of third industrial hub in Rugao, Jiangsu in 2020, Scania started building its third global production base in 2022, and Powertrain Project was added into the original plan in 2023. Plant is ready in 2024 and will start production in 2025 Q4.

By combining best practices from all parts of the organization globally and the learnings from the Chinese way of doing things, our third industrial hub will be the benchmark and best practice from the start of production within Scania and TRATON Group.

By establishing a research & development organization in China and a R&D center in Rugao, Scania is deep diving in domestic commercial vehicle market needs, strengthening the international competitiveness and ability of Scania to be a leader in sustainable transport.

Production & Logistics brings value to our customers through the Scania Way, empowered by our competent people. Being fully integrated in the global production system, we drive the shift towards sustainable transportation.

The mission of the procurement team in China is to develop the local supply chain for Rugao plant as well as the rest of the Scania industrial hubs. The main target is to reduce Automotive and nonautomotive costs while maintaining the highest standards in terms of technology, quality, delivery and sustainability. Our team is located in Beijing and Rugao in order to guarantee the most efficient and reactive way of working with the suppliers that are distributed all over China.

Currently we have over 2000 employees coming from over 40 different countries to work under the same target.
