In 2024, Scania established R&D company in Jiangsu.
Scania R&D Centre is a R&D entity invested by Scania in Rugao, boosting Scania’s R&D capability in in China. R&D will mainly include automotive electronics and electrics, software and autonomous driving, powertrain, vehicle development, vehicle variants finalization and new energy vehicle technology. In order to meet China market demand, R&D will focus on electrical and electronics, software development, powertrain adaptation and vehicle modeling in the coming years. At the same time, R&D also intends to leverage its supply chain in China to develop new energy vehicle product platforms for the Chinese market.
The majority of its R&D staff have master's and bachelor's degrees, while it is planning to set up a PhD research station with a relevant research organization. We have talented colleagues from both China and globally working together to drive the real change!
