The XT range comes with a series of powerful features. Driving a XT truck indicates true strength and is a sign of robustness and power.
Steel bumper
The XT bumper provides excellent protection for the components at the front of the vehicle, reducing unwanted downtime and costly cab and chassis repairs while improving mobility with a greater attack angle. Front Underrun Protection (FUP) and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) can also be specified.
Towing device
The readily-accessible tow pin at the front provides a 40-tonne towing capacity, the strongest on the market. It enables the vehicle to be quickly pulled out of trouble, even without unloading its cargo.
Inspection step
An inspection step can be specified on either side of the day cab (or both sides), to provide an easy way to check the cargo in a tipper body.
Robust mirrors
The robust XT mirrors have a rugged, ribbed surface that is scratch-resistant, helping the mirrors retain their good looks over time.
Driver position
Scania's latest generation of cabs have a more forward driving position, lower dashboard and narrower A-pillars than their predecessors' - ensuring great visibility and a spacious cab feel.
Dashboard options
A 9-button instrument panel extension can be specified to allow additional bodywork components to be controlled from the driver's seat. This allows the fit and finish of the Scania dashboard to be maintained even when additional components have been fitted by a bodybuilder.
Resting equipment
Depending upon the cab specified, a resting bench or bed can be specified, so that breaks can be taken away from the wheel.
Tough Mudder
Tough Mudder athletes and Scania XT trucks have a lot in common. Strength, adaptability, and an unwavering performance in the face of adversity. Watch our video to see them in action.
High air intake
The high air intake is designed to supply the engine with the cleanest air possible. Suitable for dusty environments, the high air intake is available for the complete engine range, including the 16-litre, and comes in two versions – Standard and Heavy Duty.
Fold-out service step
The fold-out service step in the bumper, together with grab handles in the front, ensures safe, non-slip climbing. Grab handles are integrated in the cab front, enabling easy access to the windscreen - saving time when transitioning from off-road to on-road driving.
Headlamp protection
When driving in rough surroundings, having dependable lights that do not break makes a big difference. The Scania XT is fitted with headlamp protection and integrated fog lamps in the bumper.
Anti-roll bar
The three-piece anti-roll bar at the front of the cab enables quicker access to the cooler and the auxiliary equipment fitted in front of the engine.
Mudguard
The second front axle mudguard height is adjustable to four positions to match different tyre sizes while maintaining the clearance to suit the body. The height is adjusted by changing the position of the upper or lower brackets.
Pre-punched holes
These pre-punched top row holes will provide great flexibility for the bodybuilder when mounting the bodywork, which will save both time and cost, while ensuring Scania quality through-and-through.
Communication interface
The Scania Bodywork Communication Interface enables a perfect integration between the chassis and bodywork. Use the electrical I/O pins or CAN interface to expand the I/O with additional nodes.
Power take-off options
A power take-off is needed to power external equipment. Scania supplies clutch dependent and independent power take-offs between 400-2000Nm for many different needs – engine-driven, clutch driven and gearbox-driven in two positions.
