Education and vocational training is a strong focus at Scania. Wherever we operate in the world our business is dependent on our ability to recruit skilled workforce. We are today operating or financing several vocational schools in countries where we have production or operates Bus Rapid Transit systems.
Located next to the Scania main office in Södertälje is Mälardalen Tekniska Gymnasium, a Scania owned gymnasium with a technical focus. The students work close to the industry and graduates with both academical- and worklife experience. Scania is also one of the actors behind Södertälje Science park. Together with the municipality of Södertälje, Astra Zeneca, Acturum and the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm we are creating a forum for research, innovation and sustainable production. We have also a partnership with the Stockholm School of economics to contribute with a focus on business models for the future of transport.
