Administration
If you are structured, meticulous, and enjoy working at the computer, perhaps summer work within the administration area suits you.
If you are studying at high school, college, or university and are attracted by an administrative role, you have the opportunity to apply for a summer job within Scania's administration.
At Scania, there are administrative duties in all business areas. You also get the opportunity to make valuable contacts and find references for future thesis work.
The tasks vary from simpler assignments such as archiving, sorting, and web editing to more advanced assignments such as investigations of various kinds.
Economics and finance
If you study economics at college or university, you can gain valuable experience through a summer job at Scania's finance department.
You, who is a future graduate economist or graduate engineer in financial management or accounting, will have the opportunity to practice your knowledge in business administration while at the same time getting to experience what it is like to work at Scania. Our hope is that in the future we will also be able to offer you a thesis project.
Scania's economists actively support the entire business – from product development, purchasing, and production, to sales, financing, and aftermarket.
The tasks vary from simpler tasks such as invoice handling to more advanced tasks such as e.g. production and analysis of complex financial data.
Research and Development
You who see your future in Research and Development (R&D) and study at a college or university, have the chance to gain useful experience for the future and a chance for personal development through summer work within this area. There are also opportunities to develop your network in preparation for upcoming thesis projects.
Research and Development is a large business area within Scania and Traton. It covers the entire chain from innovative research, design, and long-term testing, to quality follow-up in production and with our suppliers.

Procurement

Scania Global Procurement is responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier management, and business development. To ensure stability in our supply chain, we develop and implement procurement strategies, build strong supplier relationships, and negotiate agreements that secure quality, compliance, and sustainability. This involves close collaboration with both external partners and internal stakeholders, including R&D, Logistics, and Production, allowing us to actively contribute to Scania’s sustainability goals and future ambitions.

IT
For those of you studying Systems/IT at college or university, this is a large business area that spans Scania's entire operation. Opportunities exist to work in, for example, operations, support, research and development, or production.
Duties vary from updating information to more advanced programming.
You will also have the opportunity to visit other business areas at Scania and build a network for upcoming thesis projects.

Logistics
To keep the operations at production line ongoing, it is important that materials needed are in the right place at the right time.
Those of you studying at high school, college or university have the opportunity to apply for a summer job at Scania's logistics departments to support the work in production. You must be 18 years old and this job often requires a B driver's license. It is an advantage if you have a forklift driver's license.
At Scania, there are several logistics centers that receive deliveries of the parts that will proceed to production. It is important that material gets to the right place at the right time and to ensure this, there are also logistics departments connected to the production line.
The duties are performed in various areas of operation and include:
 
• Packing
• Shipments of goods
• Goods reception
• Material handling
• Truck/forklift driving
Production
You who study at a high school, college or university and find production exciting can apply for a summer job to see how the business works. You must be 18 years old to work in the production environment.
In Södertälje, we manufacture, assemble, test, and paint Scania's high-tech engines, axles, gearboxes and chassis in a state-of-the-art facility and working environment. Technology and working methods at the absolute forefront provide a pleasant workplace.
Production is covered by many different tasks within different areas of operation:

• Duties as workshop mechanic
Scania Summer Camp
The summer job for you who like to work with children and sports.
We are looking for leaders for the Scania Summer Camp, aimed at children aged 8-12 years.
Working hours; daytime Thu-Fri week 24 and daytime Mon-Thu week 25, daytime Mon-Fri week 26-28 in Södertälje at Scania Health Center Gröndal. It is located in Tveta, just outside Södertälje, with exercise tracks and green areas directly adjacent to the facility.
Your task is to be the leader of a children's group every week. You are responsible for keeping the group together, supporting the children, lead and inspiring the children to participate in various health-promoting sports activities. We are looking for people who have an interest in sports, children, and leadership. It’s a merit if you also have an interest in technics!
It is essential that you, who apply for these positions, have a very good command of Swedish, both speaking and listening comprehension.
If you are called to a job interview, you need to bring an extract from the police criminal record to the interview
Service
Some summer jobs fall outside the business areas we have presented.
Among other things, we have an internal service operation with duties such as mail handling, gardening and plants, order reception, and work at the reception.
You, who study in high school, college, or university are welcome to apply.
Within the “service” area, we also have summer work at Tunanäs Leisure Facility. Working there is for those who like to work outdoors and close to nature.
Tunanäs, is a campsite located on Mörkö, 30 km outside Södertälje.
Working hours; variable schedule daytime 07.00-16.00 and every other weekend during weeks 25-33. Your task is mainly to keep the area tidy and provide good service to our guests. Lawn mowing, cleaning, kiosk, and simple painting work occur.
You must be 18 years of age and hold a B driving license to work at Tunanäs.
