Hands-on with strategy and production

21 OCTOBER 2024

“Working towards a common goal is everything!” Flora Yousif says. “My team works like a dream together, and I’m proud of what we accomplish.”

Flora Yousif is a Group Manager in Scania’s production. It's a crucial role that includes giving hands-on support to the production team and ensuring everything is up and running as planned. But it's also a role with strategic responsibility to minimise downtime and maximise output. Above all, Flora is a leader who sees that her team thrives as they work together.

“I started my career as an operator in production and that experience has been valuable to me in this role. I was a Team Leader before my current position.” Since joining Scania, she’s seen the effect of working with inclusion and team spirit in the workshop.

Want to be where the action is

Target goals, KPIs and working with continuous improvements are what motivate her. “I’m proud of the challenges we’ve sorted out by working dedicatedly.” Flora does daily check-ins and rounds where her team works. “I want to spend as much time as possible in the production area – this is where it all happens,” she explains.

“Communicating with other teams and making sure we are aligned as well as planning production based on the demand from the assembly teams is crucial in my role,” she adds, “but so is investigating any deviations and finding the right solution to eliminate them.”

Dreaming big

Looking forward, Flora has several dream projects. “For one, I would love to be a part of implementing AI to improve real-time data and analysis for more efficient production. Given that safety in the workplace is a key factor for well-being and happy co-workers, I would also like to dive deeper into this area with continuous safety updates and training.”

She thinks her work is really satisfying: “I work goal-oriented on several levels and strategically to improve our production line. And when the pressure is on – I thrive the most!”
