Rugao

Rugao, a county level city in Nantong, 150km northwest to Shanghai, was known as Zhishui in ancient times, meaning “to the highland by the water”. With a history of 2,500 years, this “city of longevity” and “home to Bonsai” has been a hot spot for talent and investment since ancient times. Now Rugao embraces the advantage of being a part of Yangtze River Delta integration, Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Belt and Road national strategy, its economy ranks 18th place in the list of the country's top 100 counties.

Scania Industrial Operations Asia's production base and R&D center are located in the northern part of Rugao's national-level economic and technological development zone, which houses 476 large-scale supporting enterprises. The supporting services for production, such as testing, R&D, and finance, are being rapidly improved.
