Introduction to C&C Insurance Brokers Limited pays dividends over the long term.

Three years ago, Newton-le-Willows transport operator Paul Shuttleworth was introduced to C&C Insurance Brokers Limited by his local Scania Financial Services Business Manager, Darren Mottram.  Since then Paul’s company, P. R. Shuttleworth Haulage Limited, has been reaping benefits which have so far resulted in insurance policy savings in excess of £12,500.

“When I changed over they saved me an incredible amount of money,” says Paul.  “Firstly, they quoted me £1,500 less for a renewal than my previous insurance provider.  Then they arranged for me to be reclassified as a mini-fleet rather than a vehicle-by-vehicle insurance buyer. I think I spent a morning at home sorting it all out and it saved me £11,000 – it was astronomical! 

“When it comes to my 2024 renewal, this will be my fourth year with C&C and I just can’t fault them.  Anything I want, they’re there for me.  You don’t hear many people say this sort of thing, but they’re phenomenal – they really are very, very good.  The person I deal with, I’ve got his personal number and any issues – and touch wood I haven’t had many – he’s straight onto it. Additions or removals to the fleet can all be done by a text or email, which is really helpful.”

Since starting as an owner-driver back in 2007, Paul Shuttleworth has enjoyed sustained success over the years and today operates five Scania trucks, the latest addition being a flagship model 660 S V8 tractor unit.  “We specialise in providing a dedicated sub-contractor traction-only service, hauling various types of trailers for our customers,” explains Paul.  “We source our trucks from Haydock Commercial Vehicles and Scania Financial Services is always our first stop when it comes to finance.  We acquire our trucks on a five year hire purchase agreement, but generally renew them after three years to ensure the fleet is kept fresh and up to date.
