Introducing C&C Insurance Brokers Limited
7th May 2024
As an Introducer Appointed Representative, Scania Financial Services can offer a quick and effective introduction to C&C Insurance Brokers Limited.
For transport operators, acquiring vehicles and insurance go hand-in-hand. However, for financial services providers strict limits on any insurance-related activities are imposed by the Financial Conduct Authority. To assist its customers, Scania Financial Services (SFS) has taken steps to become an Introducer Appointed Representative for insurance services provider, C&C Insurance Brokers Limited (C&C). In practice, this means that SFS is able to introduce customers to C&C, a broker with more than 40 years experience of providing a wide range of bespoke insurance products to the transport industry.
“We get a lot of positive feedback on this service as it simplifies the entire process from a customer’s point-of-view – effectively, it’s a seamless service between us, our customers and C&C,” says Darrell Taylor, Product Support & Insights Manager for SFS. “When we talk to operators we qualify their acquisition needs and if insurance is on the list we introduce C&C. They have a dedicated team with a proven track record of success looking after our customers. One example here is P. R. Shuttleworth Haulage Limited which to date has saved more than £12,500 by using the services of C&C.”
Serving customers nationwide, C&C has a long standing relationship with the Scania organisation. C&C will either handle the referral themselves or introduce this business to C&C Insurance Brokers (Leeds) Ltd; an Appointed Representative.
“The reason Scania and C&C work so well together is because there is a shared ethos towards customer service,” comments C&C Leeds Director, Tom O’Connell. “You buy a Scania because you know it’s a premium quality product that’s going to serve you well – and that is exactly what we set out to provide; good service is paramount to what we do. Key to our service is that C&C have their own internal claims team – we do not outsource as we know that good claims handling translates into better premiums and repeat business. So C&C invest heavily in this area with between 30 and 40 dedicated staff. They are one of our most important resources. It’s like having a second set of eyes looking over everything, not just to protect the insurer’s balance sheet but also to guard the interests of our customers.
“In terms of adding value, there are two aspects to our business; our general commercial business and what we call our THL business, which stands for Transport, Haulage and Logistics. And it’s not just trucks and related assets, we cover bus and coach too. We have a dedicated team to look after our THL clients, with specialist account executives on hand to assist. Behind the AE’s we have Account Handlers who support and help manage our clients’ needs day-to-day. Behind the Account Handlers we have Administrators who deal with vehicle changes, driver referrals, declarations, and processing of mid-term adjustments. We dedicate so much resource to our support teams as we understand it’s vital that our customers get quick turnarounds on things like vehicle changes and driver referrals – we don't want to hold up their businesses.
“When we get in touch with clients, we consider every insurance they could possibly need. We'll review a customer’s existing portfolio and make sure they've got good quality cover for everything they need, not just their vehicles. In addition to fleets, we can look at liabilities, any property or assets they own, plus any other insurances they might need or cover for businesses they may have. We can also introduce them to healthcare insurance as well as looking at credit insurance and any high-net-worth insurances they might have.
“In summary, our aim is to make things as simple as possible for our customers by offering a full range of insurance services from a single source of supply.”
