DKBM SERVICES GOES FOR GROWTH
Assistance from Scania Financial Services is helping this Warrington start-up to diversify and expand.
Two years ago, DKBM Services Limited began trading as a supplier of professional services to the public sector. Rapidly building a reputation for reliable and dependable service, the company caught the eye of a Midlands-based logistics provider, which offered DKBM Services the opportunity to work as a sub-contractor on its distribution contract with a major online retailer.
Accepting the offer meant that DKBM Services would need to invest in a truck, which it would have to source immediately to help cope with the surge in online trading in 2020. The company's local dealer, Scania Warrington, suggested a pre-owned R 450 tractor unit, which was available immediately. Scania Financial Services worked to provide a tailored funding solution, including insurance. Within just a few days, the deal was structured, agreed and finalised.
DKBM Services opted for Scania Financial Services' Hire Purchase Flexi-buy product, which allows the company to make yearly over-payments should cashflow permit. DKBM also took advantage of the three-month VAT deferral offered by Scania Financial Services and, to fully protect its investment, opted for Scania Return to Invoice (RTI) insurance. The RTI policy covers the difference between the motor insurance settlement figure – the market value of the vehicle – and the original net invoice price of the truck.
Such has been the success of this new venture for DKBM Services that an order for a second Scania R 450 was placed within three months of the first entering service. Scania Financial Services have once again provided the funding solution.
"When we took up the offer to move into transport, our customer needed us to act swiftly, and the assistance provided by Scania Financial Services made that both possible and easy," says Michal Marcinek, Transport Manager for DKBM Services.
"Our finance representative was extremely supportive right from the start. Not only did he share useful knowledge with us, such as the VAT deferral which really helped us to get going, but he also steered us through the entire acquisition process from start to finish.
"We are very pleased with the way in which the relationship has developed. The service we have received from Scania Financial Services has been great, and the funding solutions and support they have provided have given us confidence as we take the next steps in developing our business."
We’re continually looking to do case studies with our customers. If you have a great story that you would be happy to turn into a case study, please let us know by emailing scania.finance@scania.com
