An inside look at the development of Scania’s autonomous trucks
26 OCTOBER
At Scania Demo Centre’s Gläntan circuit in Södertälje, Sweden we’re testing autonomous trucks for mining applications.
Scania’s self-driving trucks will be ideal for mines’ tough environments, where constant uptime is essential and there are chronic driver shortages. The trucks run without pause and have a range of sensors that help them spot obstacles and safely avoid them.
In this video, Mina Hosseini explains how the control room tasks and monitors the vehicles, Moa Gustafsson invites us on board a self-driving truck, Mattias Molin uses a mobile phone to program a truck’s mission and Daniel Bergqvist outlines Scania’s vision of an autonomous future.
