Scania delivers 48 gas buses for Grenoble
1 MARCH 2018
Following an order for 35 gas-powered Scania Citywide Low Floor buses for the Grenoble metropolitan area in France, the Grenoble operator Sémitag will add an additional 13 Scania Citywide Low Entry gas buses.
“Energy transition is not an empty word for us,” says Christine Rochex, Fleet Manager at Sémitag. “For several years, we have strived to make our fleet cleaner and less polluting, both in terms of emissions and noise. These buses will be easily accessible and offer more seating than the present city centre buses.”
Sémitag, which operates the Grenoble regional public transport network, currently has a fleet of 220 buses, including 56 hybrid buses. The first CNG buses were introduced in 2002 and Sémitag now operates 74 gas buses. With 69 million trips in 2015, Sémitag plans to reach 100 million trips by 2020.
