Grandiose birth of a new Scania

Streamed live from Grand Palais in Paris in front of 1,200 guests from 70 countries, a new generation of trucks and transport solutions from Scania was launched, setting new standards in the transport industry.
“Together, we can drive the shift to a new era of sustainable transport. Today is just the beginning,” Scania’s President and CEO Henrik Henriksson promised, aiming at the tens of thousands of customers, drivers and fans worldwide, following the biggest product launch in Scania´s 125-year history.
Customised and sustainable transport solutions
The new truck range is the result of ten years of development work and project costs of more than 2 billion euro. With it, Scania is extending its offering and can now, thanks to its unique modular system, more performance steps, connectivity and a comprehensive palette of productivity enhancing services, offer sustainable transport solutions that are precisely customised for each type of customer in the highly competitive transportation industry.
“This truck is a vital step towards our vision for the future. It is our masterpiece, and a symbol of what Scania does best today. It’s a commitment to building better businesses for our customers, and a better and more sustainable world for us all,” Henrik Henriksson continued.
Connected services integrated in workshop operations
Together with Christian Levin, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing, he introduced the many news to the invited guests from the transport industry, gathered in the legendary palace built for the fine arts in central Paris.
“This launch is about much more than the trucks you see here on stage, it’s also about the complete solutions surrounding them,” Christian Levin explained, an continued:
“Tonight we are presenting a comprehensive range of connected services, now seamlessly integrated with our workshop operations, and our customers’ businesses.”

Henrik Henriksson also addressed the men and women behind the new generation of trucks:
“To the 45,000 passionate Scania employees that have been part of this journey with us, and have given so much of yourselves along the way. All of you have made this incredible moment possible for us – thank you!”
And clearly emotionally he declared:
“Ladies and gentlemen, it is with a heart bursting with pride that I introduce the new generation Scania!”
