1982: K chassis one of Scania’s most successful

The rear-engined K chassis is introduced for buses and coaches. The new range is to become one of Scania's most successful bus chassis. As in the company's trucks, Scania now uses a number of standardised variants of the chassis, making it equally suitable for suburban, long-distance and tourist applications, as well as making it possible to meet a wide range of customer requirements in several market segments. Developing an impressive 305 hp, the longitudinally mounted, 11-litre turbocharged, six-cylinder unit is one of the most powerful available, while the light, robust chassis offers pleasant handling.
