1909: Adventurous 520 kilometre trip
A Scania truck type E with a 24 hp engine undertakes the adventurous 520 kilometre trip from Malmö in the south of Sweden to the capital Stockholm. The truck was equipped with ball bearings for the wheels. On appalling dirt roads and frequent encounters with horse-drawn carriages, the distance takes three days to cover. The five-men crew include Per Alfred Nordeman, later to become the first Managing Director of Scania-Vabis.
