Highlights from the first quarter

Scania partners with Dynell to electrify airport ground support with battery-powered systems that replace diesel equipment. The solution helps reduce emissions and noise, supporting airports as they move towards lower-emission operations.

Scania and Loga convert household waste into biomethane to fuel waste collection trucks, creating a circular solution. This reduces emissions and supports cleaner urban waste management in São Paulo.

Scania has received additional five-star Euro NCAP ratings for its trucks. The results reflect strong performance in collision avoidance, driver support and urban safety, and show continued progress in vehicle safety.

Our purpose

The shift to a sustainable transport system is underway, and Scania is taking a leading role in driving it. Driving the shift matters not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because the future of our business depends on it.

Transport is transforming faster than any time since the industrial revolution, and it’s vital that we are ahead of the curve. To stay competitive and profitable, we need to embrace change, take risks  and show leadership. Those who fail to do so risk being left behind.

Driving social sustainability across the value chain

Scania’s social sustainability approach spans the entire value chain, combining risk management with opportunities to create societal value. The risk‑based foundation is aligned with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and focuses on protecting human rights, health and safety, and fair conditions across suppliers, operations, customers and product use. At the same time, Scania prioritizes several key areas to help build a safer, more inclusive and resilient transport system.

Our decarbonisation journey

Our sustainability actions are focused on three interconnected priorities: social sustainability, decarbonisation and circular business. Decarbonisation is the area where Scania can make the biggest contribution. More than 90 percent of the total carbon emissions from our business is generated when products are in use.
