The company’s innovative spirit made her choose Scania

As a student within Engineering Physics at Uppsala University, Scania was always on Johanna Blomqvist’s radar. So when an interesting position opened up she went for it and started her career as a Model developer in January 2020, working with models and software simulations at Research and Development.
“I heard about Scania’s high end technical work, innovation spirit and culture, and was curious about the company. I like the fact that everything is in the same place in Södertälje. As an R&D employee I have a view of both the test track and the transmission factory. It reminds you that you are actually working with products. Also, at Scania you have great development opportunities,” says Blomqvist.
In fact, her job has already evolved and she is currently working with coordinating efforts within electrification projects with other departments at R&D.
“I love the problem solving, never doing the same things twice and working with so many smart and interesting people. It is inspiring to work with cutting edge technology. I encounter things daily that will not be in production for several years,” she says. “I love the technical side of my job, but also the coordinating and networking , so hopefully I will continue to grow in that direction to become a project leader or manager.”
