1956: More than 50 percent in exports
Annual production seldom exceeded 1,000 units during Scania-Vabis first 50 years in business and export sales were scarce. Large investments in product development and production during the early 1940s enabled Scania-Vabis to start an export offensive as soon as the second world war came to an end. The 1950s featured a thriving development of exports. Scania-Vabis established its export department in 1951, and a rapid increase in sales outside Sweden resulted in breaching the 50 % export barrier already in 1956.
