1939: First unitary Engine - "Royal"

In 1939, Scania-Vabis unveiled the “Royal” unitary diesel engine. This was the first engine to use standardised components, thus marking the beginning of Scania’s modular system. It was built as an inline engine with 4, 6 and 8 cylinders.
