West Pennine Trucks host open day for new Knighton depot

13th May 2023

West Pennine Trucks opened their brand-new Knighton depot on Saturday the 13th May 2023. Relocating less than a mile from Station Road to Ludlow Road, the move commits West Pennine Trucks and Scania to the rural transport community of mid-Wales.

The new site includes additional workshop space, the ability to stock a larger variety of parts and modern driver facilites.

To celebrate the opening of the new depot, West Pennine Trucks organised free tea, coffee, soft drinks, and wood fired pizza, courtesy of Woodfellas Pizza Company, for over 100 customers.

These accompanied a selection of vintage and new generation Scania tractor units that were all supplied and PDI'd by the team at Knighton.

Depot Manager Philip Gillum said "It was a fantastic turnout. I was delighted to be able to welcome our customers to our new depot and give them the full tour. We've now got a depot fit for the future and something we can all be proud of moving forward".

West Pennine Trucks, Knighton will be looking for new members to join the team at the new location and would like to encourage anyone with an interest in automotive, transport or logistics or with experience in parts, service or as a mechanic/technician to register their interest by emailing contactWPT@scania.com and referencing 'Knighton' in the title.

Alternatively feel free to drop your CV in to the team.
