New Innovative vehicle and PSVAR conversion package is key for Carvers Coaches
Carvers Coaches, the Wirral-based private hire coaching specialist, has taken delivery of its latest three Scania vehicles. A key aspect of this important purchase for the company has been Scania's ability to supply these vehicles now with PSVAR (Public Service Vehicle Accessibility Regulations) conversions to be carried out at a later date built into the purchase price. Contributing further to the fixed, known costs for Carvers Coaches is the two years repair and maintenance contract included with all retail purchases of Scania coaches.
"Despite the ongoing effects of coronavirus, we believe it is essential to continue investing in quality vehicles to protect our brand image and the future of the business," comments Carvers Coaches proprietor Mark Carver. "The two years repair and maintenance will be carried out by Scania Ellesmere Port, where Mark Urmston and his team have always given us excellent levels of service. This, together with the fact that Scania were able to include future PSVAR conversions in the upfront purchase price was a deal clincher.
"We are delighted to have been able to assist Carvers Coaches, which has been a loyal and valued Scania customer since 2003," says Lee Wale, UK Retail Sales Manager for Scania Bus and Coach."
The three Scania coaches supplied to Carvers Coaches are:
· A 13.9-metre overall length 6x2 Scania Touring based on Scania's K 410 EB chassis with 59-seats equipped with leather headpad, piping, three-point seatbelts and seat back tables. The vehicle has a centre sunken toilet, a Frenzel drinks unit, DVD player with two monitors, climate control air conditioning, and Alcoa Dura-Bright alloy wheels.
· A 12.1-metre overall length 4x2 Scania Touring based on the Scania K 360 IB chassis. The specification is as per the vehicle above, but with 51 seats.
· A 12.8-metre overall length 4x2 Scania Interlink based on the Scania K 410 EB chassis. This vehicle has 53 half leather-trimmed seats equipped with piping, three-point seatbelts and seat back tables. The vehicle is equipped with a centre sunken toilet, a hot drinks unit, a DVD player with two monitors, climate control air conditioning and Alcoa Dura-Bright alloy wheels.
"We provide a wide range of services and these vehicles give us the flexibility we need," says Mark Carver. "In addition to schools contracts – which all our vehicles are involved in – the two Tourings are all-rounders, with the 4x2 being able to access places which would be too tight for the 6x2. The high specification Scania Interlink will focus primarily on our private hire, long distance work and touring activities."
Based in Ellesmere Port, Carvers Coaches began trading in 2003, since when it has enjoyed continued and sustained growth. Today, the company is an important service provider within its area and operates a 15-strong vehicle fleet. Company founder Mark Carver attributes his firm's success to the quality of service, attention to detail and high levels of customer care provided by the Carvers Coaches team.
