DXB Pump & Power selects Scania Stage V engines for performance and sustainability

Specialist pumping solutions-provider, DXB Pump & Power Limited, has chosen Scania Engines as its preferred supplier and has specified six Scania industrial engines, the first to be taken by the company, to power its latest generation of pumpsets for the European market.  The order comprises four 13-litre and two 9-litre engines, all of which comply with the European Stage V non-road emissions standard.

The first engines to be delivered are DC13 330kW units.  These are used to power DXB Pump & Power's newly launched 12” sound attenuated pumpset capable of delivering over 1,500m³/hr and heads beyond 60m or almost 200ft whilst still operating at around 80% efficiency. The company will use the same engine to power the next size up 18” pumpsets, which are the highest performing portable pumpsets manufactured by any British pump manufacturer today.

"Great fuel performance and excellent service all round – sales, service, local aftersales support and global backup – are some of the key reasons behind our decision to opt for Scania," says DXB Pump & Power's owner, Simon Ruffles.  "Technically, Scania's engines match our performance curve right through to 2,100 rpm, which enables us to fully utilise and optimise the potential of our pumps.  As a business our aim is to help our customers reduce their operating costs and increase efficiency, and by combining Scania's fuel-efficient, clean-burning Stage V engines with our high-specification pumps we are able to minimise the fuel burnt per cubic metre of water pumped while enhancing environmental performance and sustainability."

For Scania, Engines Sales Manager Stewart Dale comments:  "These are the first Scania Stage V-compliant engines to be taken by a UK pumpset manufacturer and we look forward to continuing to support DXB Pump & Power Limited as the units are commissioned.  We wish them and their customers, every success as the units enter operational service over the coming months."

With an expected in-service life of over ten years, DXB pumpsets are typically used in flood management schemes, waste water pumping and quarry and large construction site dewatering operations.
