23/05/2019

Building a model future

Customised promotional model vehicle specialists Search Impex have recently completed an order for the South East region of leading UK Builders’ Merchant Travis Perkins.

The model, a 1:25 scale Scania R500 (6x2) dropside rigid truck with crane and customised in Travis Perkins’ latest livery, has been produced exclusively for Search Impex by Finnish manufacturers Emek, known for producing larger scale models for younger enthusiasts. It is the first Scania rigid to be produced in the new Travis Perkins livery. The model benefits from a multitude of ‘play’ features including a working crane, opening dropsides and pull down hydraulic ram stabilisers at the rear of the truck.  It comes complete with 4 pallets and a pallet fork attachment for the crane.

Travis Perkins is the UK’s leading builders’ merchants and with more than 650 branches nationwide, it is a supplier to the building and construction market.

The company, which has been voted National Builders' Merchant of the Year seven times, supplies more than 100,000 product lines to the trade including building materials, plumbing & heating, landscaping materials, timber and sheet materials, painting and decorating, dry lining and insulation, tool and equipment hire, doors and joinery, bathrooms and kitchens, and hand and power tools.

With a dedicated transport department operating a large and varied fleet, Travis Perkins trucks will be a familiar sight to many collectors throughout the UK.

Likely to be snapped up quickly, anyone in the South East area of UK interested in purchasing a model should contact their nearest branch of Travis Perkins for details of availability. A branch directory can be found on their website here.
