ReadyBus Limited take delivery of five new Scania coaches

Slough-based ReadyBus Limited has recently taken delivery of five new Scania coaches.

The vehicles delivered include four 12.8-metre overall length Scania Interlink HD models, based on the K 410 EB4x2 chassis and one 12.1-metre overall length Scania Touring HD model, based on the K 360 IB4x2 chassis. All the models feature Scania’s Opticruise gear selection systems as well as Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control and Scania’s Advanced Emergency Braking system.

Looking to expand their fleet with coaches with an emphasis on reliability, passenger comfort and on-board facilities, Matt Clayson and Tim Bloomfield of ReadyBus Limited contacted Scania.  Director of ReadyBus Limited, Matt Clayson, comments: “When we were looking to expand the fleet of full-sized coaches, we contacted Scania as we’ve been fans of the company for a number of years and have a good relationship with the team. We love the product and the service from the team is always excellent, so it was win-win for us. We discussed what we wanted with Richard Lawrie and we then developed an order of vehicles that would fulfil our needs.”

The Interlink model is equipped with Bosch audio and video equipment, climate control, washroom and hot drinks unit. The Interlink also features a reversing camera and 53 half-leather passenger seats with magazine nets and seatback tables.

As well as the vehicles themselves, ReadyBus Limited will benefit from the repair and maintenance programme provided with all Scania retail coach sales, which will be managed by Scania Heathrow.

Another included feature is Scania's OnBoard telematics service, which is provided on a complimentary basis on all retail coaches for ten years. Scania OnBoard records driver and vehicle performance data and reports direct to the customer by email on a weekly basis.  As with all new coaches sold to retail customers, driver and technical training is also offered.

Matt Clayson continues: “We will be taking advantage of the driver training that is offered, we are looking at doing this later in the year though as it’s an extremely busy time of year for us. As soon as we received the coaches, they headed off on their travels around Europe!”
