Provence Private Hire invests in two Scania Touring coaches

St Albans-based Provence Private Hire has expanded its fleet by investing in two new Scania Touring coaches following a demonstration at its premises.

The two new additions are 13.7-metre overall length Scania Touring HD models, based on the K 410 EB6x2*4 chassis.  Both coaches feature a fully-automated Opticruise gear selection system as well as Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control and Scania’s Advanced Emergency Braking system.  Additional driver aids include reversing and centre door cameras.

The vehicles are equipped with Bosch audio, video and MP3 equipment, climate control, pre-heater, Xenon headlights, centre sunken toilet cubicle and washroom. There is also a Frenzel servery with fridge and 57 Kiel passenger seats with magazine nets and seat back tables.

The addition of the two Scania Touring coaches will bring in the total number of Scania vehicles in the Provence Private Hire fleet to five and will be used to transport local private school pupils.

Regional Account Manager for Scania, Richard Lawrie, comments, “We wanted to offer a demonstration to the customer as they were originally concerned that the tight local roads may offer a challenge.  However, as soon as they drove the route the driver would take, they soon realised the vehicle was manoeuvrable enough and the Scania Touring HD was exactly what owner Andrew Hayes was looking for to add to the fleet. The new vehicles look striking in the company’s livery and have a huge road presence."

As well as the vehicles themselves, Provence Private Hire will benefit from the repair and maintenance programme provided with all Scania retail coach sales, which will be managed by Scania South Mimms.  Another included feature is Scania's OnBoard telematics service, which is provided on a complimentary basis on all retail coaches for ten years. Scania OnBoard records driver and vehicle performance data and reports direct to the customer by email on a weekly basis.  As with all new coaches sold to retail customers, driver and technical training is also offered.
