Vehicle Specification

The chassis number is the key to quick search

Enter a chassis number into SWS and you can find the technical specification regarding the specific vehicle including all certificates.

 

This information describes the vehicle as it left the factory, often without body but if the body was delivered from Scania factory the specification of the body will be included in this view.

Workshop Procedures

Workshop procedures are published in SWS.

General workshop procedures are included in the workshop manual in SWS.

Body repair procedures are included in the workshop manual in SWS.

Wiring Diagrams

The number one help to find electrical faults.

Wiring diagrams are available in SWS.

In the workshop manual you will find the traditional big sheets describing a part of the electrical system each.

In SWS you will also find wiring diagrams when to check when a certain fault code is active.

Technical Service Bulletin

Additional information are available in the technical service bulletins.

Technical service bulletins, TI in Scania Language, are available in SWS.

 

The bulletins give additional information mainly to the workshop manual and the parts catalogue.

Recall Information

If there are any severe faults known on the vehicle it is presented here.

When you have entered a chassis number into SWS you can click on the campaign button.

This function demands that a uniqe vehicle is entered into the system.

 

Recall Campaigns will be repared at a Scania Dealer free of charge. An independent workshop shall inform the vehicle owner to contact the Scania network immediatly if he finds a Recall Campaign on the vehicle.

Maintenance Schedule

The key to maintain the vehicle in the correct way.

The maintenance schedule and maintenance instructions are available in SWS.

 

You will need SWS or SDP 3 to check and erase fault codes and reset the maintenance indicator in the vehicle.

Spare Parts

Spare parts and exploded views.

In SWS, you click on the “parts catalogue button”.  The parts catalogue is now selected to the specific vehicle you have entered and you can navigate to the wanted area and find the correct Scania part numbers.

 

You can also navigate the parts catalogue without entering a chassis number, this is not recommended. In the non filtered mode it is hard to choose the correct part number.

Accessories

Equipment for demanding people.

Accessories can be found in different ways in SWS.

Click the parts catalogue button and you can find accessories in the main parts catalogue as optional choices where the original part is displayed. For example the gear shifting knob which is available in original style and in different styles/materials as accessories.

If you have entered a chassis number in SWS first, always recommended, the accessories  to choose from are selected to be valid for the specific vehicle.

 

There is also a special accessories button. Click on it and you will get descriptions of the complete accessories offer available from factory. (local/market unique accessories can be available but they are not displayed in any factory system).

 

Fitting and repair information for accessories are available in the workshop manual in SWS.

Labour Times

Recomended time to repair.

Labour times, called standard times in Scania, can be found in SWS.

Click the standard times button and you can navigate to the wanted standard time. All times are measured in hours. If you have entered a chassis number in SWS first, always recommended, the standard times to choose from are selected to be valid for the specific vehicle.

For example a standard time can have the value 1.7 hours this means that it will take 1*60 minutes +  7*6 minutes = 102 minutes to do the job.

The standard time value are valid for vehicles in god condition, with no body parts from the bodybuilder that is in the way for the job as described in the workshop manual. The workshop has to have the equipment and infrastructure described in the workshop manual and the mechanic has to be trained for the actual job and have performed it before. If one or many of these preconditions is not met the job will take longer than the standard time.

Special Tools

The correct tools will help doing a quality repair.

If there are a need of a special tool to perform a maintenance or repair task the special tool number and description are available in the workshop manual, available in SWS.

 

The special tool number is also the Scania part number and can be purchased from any Scania Dealer in the same way as a spare part.
