KGT TRUCK PAYS HOMAGE TO THE SAINTS

New S500 adorned with signature colours of Northampton’s celebrated rugby team.
Northamptonshire’s KGT Logistics Ltd are supporting local with the latest addition to their fleet, which has been liveried up as a tribute to Northampton’s rugby heroes, otherwise known as The Saints.
Self-confessed avid rugby fan and MD of KGT, Steve Gill took the opportunity of his new tractor unit to make a life-long desire a reality. “It’s just something for me really”, he said, “I’ve always wanted a rugby themed truck, and I’m so pleased with how it’s turned out."
The new S500 6x2 Sleeper Highline is KGT’s first S cab on the fleet, and in this livery very proudly stands as the flagship. The vehicle will be tasked with KGT’s typical general haulage work on a nationwide contract. Based on Finedon Road Industrial Estate, KGT’s new vehicle will be maintained by TruckEast’s Wellingborough team.
Looking at the truck’s blazing yellow and green accents, it’s not hard to understand why it’s already caught the attention of truck photographers; “We’ve seen some photos taken on the motorway”, Steve added, “the truck will be going up and down the country, sometimes into Exeter. Funnily enough the Exeter Chiefs and the Saints do have a bit of a rivalry.”
But don’t think that the Saints theme stops when you enter the cab. Oh no! The final touches are currently being made to the truck, and soon it will be a haven for any Saints fan, including the team’s merchandise, flags and even bed linen. Unsurprisingly this was more than acceptable for the driver, Mark. “He knew he was getting the truck; he was excited and is proud to drive it. His kids are big rugby fans too,” Steve added.
Maintaining a majority Scania fleet, Steve explained that he chose to opt for Scania once again due to the service levels and his overall trust in the brand. Since buying KGT four years ago, Steve has rapidly grown and invested in the fleet, moving to Scania from another marque. Today KGT run 21 tractor units from their Wellingborough and Leigh depots, with nationwide support from Scania for both sites.
“It’s down to the relationship that we’ve managed to grow with Scania”, Steve added. “The process from purchase to delivery is easy with TruckEast, and the handovers are always great.
