Scania signs global framework agreement
Scania has signed an agreement with ExxonMobil whereby Scania is the primary supplier of trucks for ExxonMobil’s markets in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South-East Asia, and the Pacific Region which includes Australia and New Zealand. Scania trucks meet ExxonMobil’s stringent safety requirements and will be used in ExxonMobil operations in these regions.
“This is an exceptionally prestigious contract. The fact that ExxonMobil has chosen Scania as a global partner demonstrates that Scania’s truck design meets the toughest safety requirements world-wide,” comments Group Vice President Gunnar Rustad from Scania’s executive management.
Scania has experience with ExxonMobil in various key markets in Europe. Notable is also Africa, where Scania collaborated with ExxonMobil on a successful pioneering project to provide specially adapted trucks that conform with European road transportation of dangerous goods standards. This for use in some of Africa's most challenging terrain and operating environments.
This agreement will enable Scania to further collaborate with ExxonMobil to continually improve safe truck design standards world-wide.
