Therese has always dared to take on new challenges

22 FEBRUARY 2024

Meet our colleague Therese Karlsson, who has never been afraid to take on new challenges.

As project coordinator for product development at the Technical Center at Scania Oskarshamn, Therese is involved in the development of Scania's trucks. Therese took up her current position in June 2023.

- My main task is to coordinate major projects for product introduction, says Therese.

Therese has previously worked with the Assembly since she started at Scania Oskarshamn in 2007. In her new role, she will now work closely with the Press Shop, the Body Shop and the Paint Shops.

- It will be very exciting to make new contacts and build up a new network of contacts. I will also work together with Traton in development projects.

Therese is open to new challenges, largely thanks to the fact that she has felt a great deal of trust from her manager.

- What's so cool about Scania is that there are many development opportunities, if you want to develop, you can. At the same time, it is reassuring to have managers who see potential in employees and have a clear goal of developing employees, Therese emphasises.

In her previous position, she had several areas of responsibility and an overall project responsibility. When the new cab program, New Truck Generation (NTG), was developed, Therese was part of a pilot team at the Technical Center.

- I felt proud that we jointly succeeded so well when we introduced the new cab generation in 2016, she says.

The job at Scania was her first job after high school, which was a natural choice as her father had worked at Scania for 45 years.

- Early on, I noticed the great development opportunities there are within the company. The luxury of various courses within Scania Academy is fantastic and it's fun to see young talents develop and take their place, Therese concludes.
