With the team as driving force - IT
2 MARCH 2026
Meet the teams at IT that solve more than technology together.
The IT teams in Oskarshamn have key roles in Scania's production. They work with everything from networks and support to security and system development.
But what makes it all work is the collaboration – both within the teams and with production. At Scania Oskarshamn, we have four teams that work in different areas:
- INBA is responsible for data analysis, database management and development of smart solutions.
- INBB supports the Press Shop, the Body Shop and the Paint Shops in the development and improvement of IT systems.
- INBC supports Assembly and Logistics in the development and improvement of IT systems.
- INBD is Oskarshamn's IT support for production-critical cases and staff in IT infrastructure.
Martina Pettersson is the Head of INBB and the team that works closely with production. The team consists of automation engineers, business developers, developers and scrum masters, who help each other to stay focused, create structure and remove obstacles so that development can be delivered smoothly in everyday life.
- We are part of the flow, from the first bent sheet metal to the finished cab. What we do affects the flow of production, even if it happens in the background, says Martina.
Some have their workplace in the middle of the factory, others work remotely. To get the team together, structure is required – and the desire to meet.
– We have planning meetings, ongoing reconciliations and shorter meetings to make it work. In addition, Friday lunches, coffee, after work and a joint to-do-list. It is crucial for cohesion, says Johanna Larsson, Scrum Master.
Sometimes, the support is needed quickly if for example a system malfunctions, or something needs to be fixed right away.
– Then you notice that we work as a team. Someone sees the problem, someone has the solution. After an hour, several problems can be solved, says Haitham Haddad, Automation Engineer.
While other IT teams are more connected to certain parts, INBA's mission is to see the big picture and help where the need exists for the whole of Scania Oskarshamn.
The assignment spans over three areas: data initiatives, IT security and business analysts. It may sound like a team working closely together every day. But in the group, they work independently with their own initiatives and their own deliveries.
On the data side, Karin Haasis, Data Scientist and Teamleader for Advanced Analytics, works together with two data engineers in data analysis, data solutions, AI and making data more accessible.
– Our work is not about replacing people. It's about helping our colleagues so that they can work smarter and a little more efficiently, says Karin.
IT security is another area where the team's way of working becomes clear.
The Business Analyst part is about understanding how the business works today in the face of changes in processes and systems.
- We document how we work today and find out how the business wants it to work in the future, says Anders Forsmark, Business Analyst.
So they don't work together all the time, but together they work towards the same goal, with the same customer and the same responsibility.
