Meet Armin with a interest in technology
10 FEBRUARY 2026
Armin is the group manager for Production Maintenance in the Primer Paint Shop. Today, he is responsible for a team of 20 employees in production maintenance at Scania Oskarshamn.
When he is not at work, he runs his own company in car programming and workshop mechanics and spends time with his family. Armin likes technology and solving problems in depth. This is also what led him to Scania. For a period, Armin studied full-time at a university of applied sciences while working. It was a tough but developing time that left him wanting more.
– I'm deeply passionate about working with people. It's one thing to solve problems yourself, but getting a whole group to work together is both more challenging and rewarding, says Armin.
Therefore, the work environment is extra important to him. He took over the role of group manager in maintenance at the beginning of last year, but Armin started at Scania even before he turned 20. Previously, Armin was group manager in production, but has now taken the step over to the maintenance side.
– The area of responsibility is larger and it almost feels like running your own business. The assignment is both fun and developing. With a strong team, we can work long-term to find new methods to maintain and improve the technology at the right cost, he says.
Armin's interest in technology doesn't stop at work. At home, he works on and programs cars through his company. When asked if a full-time job is not enough, he laughs.
– It depends on how you define "full-time," he says.
He believes that both roles strengthen each other. Programming, problem solving and the sense of how an engine should sound develop when he gets to work practically.
Despite a lot of work, he makes sure to make room for what matters most – family. The week is busy, but it works. A good work environment and sustainable health are not only important issues in the professional role, but the very prerequisite for making everyday life go together.
– I've always been happy at Scania. It's an employer who cares. Sometimes you have to pinch yourself to understand how good we have it here, he says.
