Alma's journey towards new goals
12 JANUARI 2026
At Scania, Alma has taken every opportunity to develop herself, both professionally and personally. When Alma stepped into Scania for the first time, it was with curiosity and a willingness to learn. Today, almost eight years later, she trains others in working methods and leadership and now aims to become a group manager.
– I remember how big everything felt in the beginning. All the lines and trains that were constantly moving – it was like a whole new world, says Alma.
The journey began in the Assembly through working with position ownership, which gave her the chance to step up as deputy teamleader. After that, she became a teamleader in the Assembly, and realized how much she enjoyed responsibility and development.
– I like to understand the big picture and see people grow. As a teamleader, I learned a lot about both production and collaboration, she says.
After her time as a teamleader, Alma moved on to the role as a SPS coordinator – a step that has provided both personal and professional development.
– Working with Scania's production system, SPS, has been a fantastic opportunity. I have deepened my competence in the production system and gained a broader understanding of how the methods are used in practice. At the same time, I have developed my leadership, driven improvements and built a large network of contacts within Scania, she says.
Today, Alma combines her full-time job with studies in production engineering to further broaden her knowledge.
– We study 50 percent, with one Friday a month on paid working hours and one Saturday on our own time. It is a very good arrangement that makes it possible to grow further.
The next step is an internship as a group manager – an intermediate goal she is looking forward to.
– I want to continue to develop. There are so many opportunities here, and I look forward to taking the next step in my career.
For Alma, the culture and community at Scania is what makes her thrive.
– The best thing about production is the team spirit – it's where the improvements happen and where you really learn from each other.
