CHOOSING THE PERFECT OIL
FOR YOUR SCANIA ENGINE
SCANIA OIL E7 15W-40
- Scania Oil E7 is developed for markets requesting ACEA E7-quality oil – Scania Oil E7 meets Scania´s minimum oil quality requirements.
- Valid for normal oil drain intervals.
- Valid for inline as well as V8 engines
- Not suitable for engines with after-treatment systems.
SCANIA OIL BEO-2
- Scania Oil BEO-2 is specially developed for the Scania ED95 bioethanol engine.
- It provides extended drain intervals and is superior in terms of performance with regard to engine service life.
SCANIA OIL LDF-3 10W-40
- Scania Oil LDF-3 10W-40 is developed to provide the best total operating economy for Scania Euro V engines (or older) and is also valid for Scania Euro VI engines with an after-treatment system.
- Allows extended oil drain intervals.
- Valid for inline as well as V8 engines.
- Works just as well with poor quality fuel (high sulphur content).
SCANIA OIL LDF-4
- Scania Oil LDF-4 is specially developed to provide best total operating economy for Scania Euro VI engines.
- Valid for CNG and LNG engines.
- Allows extended oil drain intervals.
- Allows extended particulate filter change intervals (double compared with Scania Oil LDF-3).
- Scania Oil LDF-4 is a low viscosity oil that reduces fuel consumption, lowering fuel costs and environmental impact.
- Must be used with high quality fuel; max 10ppm sulphur.

- Scania rigorously field tests all oil blends on Scania engines – the only manufacturer to do so.
- Scania Oil composition is unique – each blend is designed for each engine family.
- Scania Oil minimizes aftertreatment impact, oil and fuel consumption.
- Scania Oil specifications build on The European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA, www.acea.be) ACEA E9 specifications for highly rated diesel engines meeting Euro 1 through 6 emission requirements.
- Suitable for engines with or without particulate filters, and for most engines fitted with SCR NOx reduction systems.
- LDF stands for Long Drain Field Test which means that we test the oils and engines for 155,000 km in long haulage instead of 60,000 km, before draining it and examining the engine parts.
- Scania LDF-4 roughly doubles the change interval on the DPF (exhaust particulate filer).
- Increased oil consumption.
- Increased tappet and roller wear.
- Increased likelihood of oil acidification leading to soft metal corrosion and piston deposits.
- Increased engine sludge with potential to block filters and even oilways.
- Reduced lubrication in cold starts, increasing wear.
- Increased fuel consumption caused by wrong viscosity.
