Apprentice of the Year Finalist
NORWICH APPRENTICE TOBY, REACHES COMMERCIAL MOTOR AWARDS FINAL
14th December, 2023
Toby Hull, 3rd year apprentice at TruckEast Norwich has been shortlisted as a finalist at the Commercial Motor Awards 2023 for the category 'Apprentice of the Year'.
Commercial Motor's apprentice of the year award recognises and celebrates individuals who have demonstrated commitment, progress and excellence with the industry. Making it into the final five applicants is a true testament to Toby's passion and dedication to development.
Toby, in his final year of his hgv apprenticeship, was nominated due to his work ethic, passion for what he does and excellent progress to date.
Flying through his apprenticeship with the support of experience mentors and trainers, Toby is continously pushing himself both in and out of the workplace. Last year he made the regional finals for the IMI world skills and more recently came second in Scania's apprentice of the year competiton.
Not only is his passion and work ethic second to none, Toby contributes to the team's success at TruckEast Norwich. Furthermore, he is a role model to future generations - raising awareness for our industry by being involved with our apprenticeship scheme; whether its school workshops, recruitment fairs or social media.
The in-house apprentice training mentor speaks highly of him, commenting, "Toby is clearly showing signs of becoming a very valuable and knowledgeable Scania Master Technician in the near future, with great early signs of leadership. I can see him progressing his career highly within TruckEast." Feedback echoed by his Manager, Paul Loades.
The winner for this award will be announced at the Road Transport Ball on 14th December at the Vox, Birmingham NEC, along with 13 other awards taking place.
We wish Toby and the other finalist the best of luck in the awards.
