Overview
The Workshop Controller is responsible for the smooth running of the Workshop. Overseeing the Technician team, ensuring key performance indicators are achieved, whilst maintaining positive relationships with our customers.
essential duties and job responsibilities
- Manage the workshop operation, ensuring there is a efficient flow of authorised work, and relevant internal / customer documentation is completed in a timely manner
- At all times strive to exceed branch key performance indicators
- Lead and motivate staff
- Monitor and improve technician efficiency and maximise technician utilisation
- Build and develop customer relationships through the provision of excellent customer service
- Ensure appropriate clocking’s are made and all job cards and service sheets are completed in a timely manner
- Ensure Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to
- Partcipate in and promote all TruckEast initiatives
- Run front and back parts counters
- Stock management
- Return warranty and service exchange units regularly
- Receive and inspect all packages delivered, resolving any issues
- Supply parts to customers and liaise with suppliers
- Control VOR/freight charge costs
- Chase supplier credits
- Any other duties relevant to the smooth and efficient operation of the department as determined by your manager
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Technical Qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ Qualified Technician) or proven experience repairing & maintaining vehicles
- Current driving licence
- Autoline 8.35 use
- Supervisory or management experience
- LGV/HGV licence
- Extensive technical knowledge
- Ability to work within a team
- Excellent organisation and analytical skills
- Ability to work within guidelines and to deadlines

- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills

- High level of computer literacy
