Chief Accountant

Locatie: Scania Ciorogarla

We are looking for a Chief Accountant with solid accounting experience. This is a key role in the organization. Together we deliver on strategy, objectives and financial targets.

The main responsibility of the Chief Accountant is to develop and operate the accounting structures and the performance of book closing and reporting to local fiscal and tax authorities. Reporting to CFO.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with internal and external parties including customers and advisors
  • Get to know the captive retail staff and understand the retail business in depth
  • Lead and develop Accounting department (5 members)
  • Responsible for continuous improvements in the department
  • Compliance with group reporting and local statutory and fiscal accounting requirements
  • Carrying out the monthly closing of the accounting balance and exercising the preventive financial control regarding the legality of the operations recorded in the accounting;
  • Preparation of annual financial statements and submission to the competent authorities within the legal term and in accordance with the legal provisions in force;
  • Managing the annual inventory - stock count process.
  • Managing the relationship with internal and external financial auditors;
  • Represents the company in front of the specialized control bodies and in front of the persons/organizations with which they come into contact during work relationship;
  • Correctly prepares and submits, by the legal deadline, all tax declarations, which the company is obliged to send to ANAF and local financial administrations, as well as to the National Institute of Statistics, but also to other bodies of the Romanian state that are related to the field financial-accounting and fiscal of the company;
  • Ensures the company's adaptation to all existing and future financial, accounting and fiscal regulations;
  • Highlight areas of risks and work actively to minimize risks
  • Responsible for a sound internal control within the responsibility areas
  • Assuring correct input from legacy systems to the General ledger
  • Control of archiving necessary documents and ensure that proper transactional records are maintained to comply with statutory and fiscal legislation

 

 

Competences:

  • A solid professional background with sufficient exposure to all accounting and taxation topics
  • IFRS experience
  • CECAR member
  • Good knowledge of the English language;
  • Positive personality that demonstrates someone active, curious, with the power of transformation and the desire to do more, with a professional curiosity and a genuine interest in developing individuals and teams.
