A Good Company and A Good Driver

MOHD SIDEK AMZAH ENTERPRISE TRIUMPHS IN SCANIA ECOLUTION 2024, WINNING BEST COMPANY AND BEST DRIVER WITH THE MOST IMPROVEMENT IN CO₂ REDUCTION

Mohd Sidek Amzah Enterprise emerged as Champion in both the Scania Ecolution ‘A Good Company’ and ‘A Good Driver’ Competitions 2024 for trucks. This double victory highlights the company’s commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.

In the ‘A Good Company’ competition for trucks, Mohd Sidek Amzah Enterprise emerged as the champion with a 13% improvement in carbon emissions reduction, while Overland Total Logistic Services (M) Sdn Bhd and Mun Loon Paper Converting Sdn Bhd secured the first and second runner-up positions, achieving 10% and 3% improvements in carbon emissions reduction respectively. These results underscore the collective effort among Scania Ecolution partners to reduce environmental impact.

As for the ‘A Good Driver’ competition for trucks, Mohd Sidek Amzah, the driver representing Mohd Sidek Amzah Enterprise, achieved a remarkable 13% improvement in carbon reduction compared to the previous year. The first and second runner-up winners were LYC Marketing & Transport Sdn Bhd and Mekar Angkut Sdn Bhd, each recording an 11% improvement in carbon reduction.

“Consistency in good driving habits is very important. It doesn’t just save fuel; it also helps save lives. I’m very happy and honoured to receive both titles this year, as this is our first time receiving such an honour from Scania. With the help of the Scania Driver app, we are confident that we can save even more next year,” stated Mohd Sidek Amzah.

Both competitions are open to companies under the Scania Ecolution partnership, where Scania collaborates with participants to optimise fuel efficiency across fleets. Both parties would agree on a set of fuel and carbon reduction targets and achieve these by utilising Scania’s sustainable transport solutions and Scania Digital Services, which are designed to optimise each vehicle.

Within Scania Digital Services, the Scania Fleet Management System Control Package provides data to fleet managers, accessible via the My Scania portal and the Scania Fleet app. This includes real-time positioning, vehicle performance, CO₂ emissions, service planning, defect reporting, and driver evaluation. These insights enable managers to identify opportunities for improvement.

To support drivers, the Scania Driver app allows them to perform pre-departure checks, track driving time and performance, view service bookings, and locate the nearest Scania workshop. They can also improve fuel efficiency with Scania ProDriver, a digital coaching service designed to help cultivate fuel-efficient driving habits. Designed for truck drivers, it boosts knowledge and improves driving skills through gamified learning and practical driving quests to reduce fuel consumption by up to 5%. ProDriver is even more effective when supported with physical Driver Training and Coaching as part of Scania Digital Services.

“Congratulations to all winners of this year’s Scania Ecolution ‘A Good Company’ and ‘A Good Driver’ competition. We look forward to building more Scania Ecolution partnerships, as we believe that sustainability and profitability can go hand in hand, especially in supporting companies on their journey towards achieving their ESG goals,” said David Lantz, Driving the Shift Director of Scania Southeast Asia.
