Used trucks on the Internet a growing business for Scania

Scania’s trade in used trucks on the Internet is growing. Since the start in early spring, more than 120 Scania dealers have joined the service and several deals in Scandinavia and beyond have been completed over the Net. IT-solutions are now helping to make Scania even more efficient in the distribution area.

With a year’s experience of an internal system Scania now offers its Used Trucks service on the Internet. About 600 vehicles from six different countries are available at present, all easily accessible and provided with pictures and complete details of equipment.

The database enables customers to search for particular vehicles with particular engine and equipment specifications. This makes business dealings more efficient for both the customer and the Scania dealer, with a corresponding reduction in costs. This will benefit everybody in the long term.

One of the biggest customers to have availed of the Used Trucks service is Sweden Post Logistics, which leases vehicles to the postal delivery service in St. Petersburg. The company recently purchased eleven trucks from Scania dealers in Östersund, Sundsvall, Hisings-Backa and Örebro.

Scania is now extending Used Trucks successively to all of Europe.

The Internet address of Used Trucks is www.scania.com/usedtrucks
