Changes in Scania's management structure
From 1 July 1998 the following executives in Scania's Executive Management will retire: Göran Löfgren, 62, Executive Vice President and head of Business and Management Development, Hans Hedlund, 62, President of Scania Latin America and Alf Bexell, 60, Senior Vice President Industrial and Marine Engines.
The corporate staff unit structure, including Business and Management Development, Finance and Communications and Public Affairs, will be restructured:
Finance and Business Control is a new corporate staff unit with the overall responsibility for all Scania subsidiaries. This staff unit comprises Accounting and Corporate Control, Finance and Business Development and Control. Mr Arne Karlsson, currently Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing Overseas, is appointed Executive Vice President and head of this new staff unit.
Corporate Planning and Communications is a new corporate staff unit, which includes the staff units Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, Business and Product Planning, Environmental Coordination, Human Resources, IS/IT Planning and Risk and Security Coordination. Mr Kaj Lindgren, currently President Scania Argentina, is appointed Senior Vice President and head of the new unit.
Mr Claes Torén, coordinator for the launch of the 4-series trucks and buses, is appointed Senior Vice President and head of a new unit responsible for all sales on Overseas markets except Latin America.
Mr Lennart Hjelte, currently Project Manager Truck Development, is appointed Senior Vice President Industrial and Marine Engines.
Mr Jorma Halonen, currently Vice President Marketing, Scania Latin America, is appointed President of the same company.
Mr Elmar Axelsson, currently head of Finance, Scania Argentina, is appointed the new President of Scania Argentina.
The changes will apply from 1 July 1998.
