New Scania Managing Director in Switzerland

Stein Ingvoldstad has been appointed the new Managing Director of Scania's importing company in Switzerland, Truck AG. He assumes his position on 31 May 1997.

As announced earlier, Scania has signed an agreement to acquire Truck AG, which has been a privately-owned Scania importer since 1957. The current owners wanted to sell the company before an upcoming change of generations. The acquisition fits well into Scania's strategy of direct involvement in important markets.

The acquisition is expected to be finalised on 31 May, when Truck AG will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Scania. In conjunction with this, Mr. Ingvoldstad will assume the post of Managing Director.Jürg Vasicek, now shareholder and delegate of the Board, will remain as a member of the company's Board after leaving his position as Managing Director.

Stein Ingvoldstad is currently Manager Director of Scania Deutschland, Scania's subsidiary in Germany. He is being succeeded there by Gunnar Rustad, who has served as Managing Director of Norsk Scania AS in Norway. Mr. Rustad assumes his new post on 14 April.

Last year Truck AG had sales of about SEK 700 million and its market share of heavy trucks in Switzerland was 17.4 percent.
