TransEuroTest 14: First group test with Scania 4-series
Scania is entering one of the new 4-series trucks in the 14th TransEuroTest. The vehicle is one of the R144 L long-haul tractor models launched in October powered by the 460-hp version of the legendary 14.2-litre V8 engine. The cab and chassis are all-new. The new Topline high-roof sleeper cab fitted to the test truck has full standing height also on the engine tunnel.
The TransEuroTest is organised by the following trade magazines: France Routes (FR), Transporama (BE and NL), Transporte Mundial (ES), Truck (GB), Trucker (DE), Tuttotrasporti (IT). The results are also published in several other publications. The 1,500 km test route runs from Antwerp to Milan, via Aachen, Koblenz, Trier, Saarbrücken, Dijon and Cluses. Test number 14 between 24-29 November comprises high-roof tractor units with 440-470 hp Euro 2 engines. MAN, Volvo and Scania are participating.
