Scania V8 Engines Power New Research Vessel for The University of Hawai'i at Manoa
21 Sep 2023 San Antonio, Texas – Scania, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of engines for boats, trucks, buses and industrial applications, powers a new research vessel for the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa on behalf of the Hawai’i Institute of Marine Biology. The twin V8 Scania-powered vessel was built by All American Marine of Bellingham, Washington. -
Scania Selected by Marine Spill Response Corporation for New Fleet
01 Dec 2022 Scania has been selected by Marine Spill Response Corporation (MSRC) to power its new fleet of five 47-foot Skimmer oil response vessels, built by Rozema Boat Works. Powered by twin DI13 087M 700hp engines provided by Cascade Engine Center, the new vessels will be delivered in 2023. -

19 Jul 2022 The CTV will be built by Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding in Somerset, Mass. for mid-2023 delivery. Based on an Incat Crowther catamaran design, it will be capable of carrying up to 24 technicians and personnel. The vessel will be powered by four Scania DI16 082M 800 hp engines supplied by Mack Boring Parts & Co. -

Major Marine Tours Orders Scania Quad V8 Powered High-Speed Catamarans
17 May 2022 Scania was selected by Major Marine Tours in Seward, Alaska to power its latest whale watching vessels. The 87-foot Spirit of Matushka, delivered in the Spring of 2021 and its sister ship Skana, launched this month, were constructed by All American Marine, a company based in Bellingham, Washington. The vessels are powered by four DI16 082M 800 hp engines supplied by Cascade Engine Center and propelled by Hamilton 422 Water Jets. -

U.S. Customer Upgrades to Scania for New Maritimo M55 Motor Yacht
12 Dec 2021 Scania was selected by a customer for installation in a new Maritimo M55 long-range cruising flybridge motor yacht build. Scania’s DI13 900 hp engines are offered as a factory-installed bespoke option on all Maritimo yachts, and this marks the first M55 to be delivered to a U.S. customer. -
Scania builds battery laboratory
10 Dec 2021 With Scania’s planned rapid introduction of electric vehicles over the coming years, there is a concurrent need to intensify battery testing and tailored deployment. Scania is therefore investing EUR 15.5 million in a new battery laboratory at its research and development facilities in Södertälje, Sweden. -
