SCANIA MALAYSIA WELCOMES THE NEXT GENERATION OF CHANGEMAKERS TO ALPHA CHAMPS AT WORK 2025
Scania Malaysia hosted today its Alpha Champs at Work event, an initiative that brought together the children of Scania employees for a day filled with fun, learning, and inspiration. The event was part of Scania’s ongoing commitment to sustainability—not just through sustainable transport solutions, but by nurturing future changemakers.
Held at Scania Malaysia in Bukit Jelutong, the Alpha Champs at Work event welcomed more than 40 children aged 5 to 13 and gave them a glimpse into the impactful work their parents do daily in driving real change in the transport industry. From interactive workshops to behind-the-scenes tours, the day offered a blend of education and entertainment that sparked curiosity and admiration.
Throughout the day, children had the chance to explore their creative side through fun activities such as a coaster-making workshop, face painting, and carnival booth games. Their curiosity was sparked during the Scania office and workshop tour, where they had a behind-the-scenes look at the space where their parents work. Adding to the excitement, the children had a guided bus tour around the premise and the unique opportunity to climb aboard a Scania fire truck, which offered a thrilling hands-on experience and a closer look at how Scania supports emergency services.
“It’s important for children to see where their parents spend a big part of their day and to feel a sense of connection to that environment. Hosting this event was a great opportunity to make our workplace more inclusive, engaging and to show how we continue to drive the shift towards a sustainable transport system. Seeing the kids light up as they took part in the activities and explored our Scania trucks and buses was truly heartwarming,” said Emill Zulkipli, Learning Development Specialist of Scania Southeast Asia.
We believe that change begins with awareness, and that awareness starts at home,” said Joyce Antar, Managing Director of Scania Southeast Asia. “By inviting our employees’ children to experience what their parents do every day, we want to create a meaningful connection between family and purpose. It was inspiring to see the kids engage with our sustainability mission through hands-on activities and tours. Events like today not only strengthen our internal culture but also help us shape a future generation that understands the importance of driving real change.”
Other than a family day, Alpha Champs at Work was a strategic initiative to foster awareness and appreciation for sustainable transport among the next generation. By connecting children to Scania’s purpose of driving the shift towards a sustainable transport system, the event successfully reinforced Scania’s values of innovation, inclusion, and sustainability.
